The Brownies put in another comprehensive performance, dismantling last year's first semi finalist at Toorak Park.

It was a strong effort, with encouraging signs from the young team. "Extras" Ralph and "Milky" Forrest both booted five, while debutant Tom Gilbert kicked three.

Hamish Cullity, relishing in his new-found celebrity, was best afield in the team's 68 point victory, while established senior players Tom Anderson and Louis Denton proved useful.

Coach Browne's assessment:

  • Tom ‘Gilbo’ Gilbert played a great game up forward in his first ever 2’s game.
  • Luke ‘Baz’ Barry was solid as a rock in defence.
  • Jack ‘Kellers’ Kelliher continues to improve will press for selection by season’s end.
  • Last season’s under 19 captain Hamish ‘Moz’ Morris is adding some life to the midfield.
