Only the Ménages didn't taste the fruits of victory.
Thwack! Kapow! Boff! The Old Xavs destroyed Old Scotch with a strong first term, a humongous second and then a soul-destroying second half. Oscar Lawrance was best in this most complete performance, with sixteen players scoring goals.
Next week, a trip to St Bernard's, who lost big to the Crocs.
Jon Merlo booted ten goals in a BOG performance and Sam Stynes five as the Reptiles put on a show against St Bernard's. The Lime Sox booted fifteen in each half in a very smooth performance, with eleven players splitting the tall uprights. The Diles play fifth-placed Uni Blues next week before their Showdown with the Thirds in the second semi-final the following week.
The top-ranked U23s secured the minor premiership with one hole left to play when they whacked Old Carey in their R15 contest. The Red 'n' Blacks went to the first change four points down and the Panthers gave them little in the second. However, the X-Men turned a 15 point half-time advantage into 52 in the third term before playing ut an even fourth stanza.
Next week, a clash with third-placed St Kevin's before their rematch with Old Brighton in the second-semi.
It was a tough evening for the Ménages as they fell to St Kevin's. After an even first half, SKOB added 6.6 to zero in the second hald to win easily. Next week, Will Honan's Heroes meet Uni Blacks, with fourth place and finals the prize for the winner.
Cooper McLean shone and eleven in red 'n' black kicked six-pointers as th T-Birds turned in four solid quarters to defeat Caulfield. With a week to go, the Xavs are in second spot, but that will go on the line when they meet third-placed Fitzroy in the last home and away game of the season.
