Jack and Meg Bowen again welcomed OXFC Life Members to their home to ring in the new season.

As always, their hospitality was very generous and a great night was had by all who attended. The Bowen garden looked resplendent, and as Jack explained, this was due to Meg, who had painstakingly nurtured the petunias for months in an attempt to show the place at its best.

'I ask Meg when the garden will be at its prime, and I set the date for the function,' said the great man. 'She's never been wrong.'
