TOORAK PARK TREBLE
Another big day at home
Another excellent showing from the U23 team, who took care of Collegians in no uncertain terms.
Harry Kelly booted three in his first appearance for the season as the Red and Blacks powered away after quarter time to take the points.
Coach Healy's comments:
The OX reds dominated the opening quarter with quick hands out of the clearances and fast ball movement into the forward line and then proceeded to provide one of the worst displays of kicking for goal imaginable. 1-8 should’ve been 8-1 !!
The lads dominated the rest of the game apart from a ten minute lapse straight after half-time where we conceded four straight to the men in purple – this will bite us against stronger teams !!!
Our large list meant most were playing their first game so plaudits to Harry Kelly, Tom Boots, Bill Curtis and Harry Reed from the U19’s and other newcomers in Pat Wilson, Christian Prowse, Cameron Bishop and Ange Amato.
Nick Le Febvre and Matt Forrest played their best games so far for the Reds.
The day was soured somewhat with nasty injuries to hard nuts Darrer and Bosnar.
Eight of our long list had a run with the Crocs – well done lads !!
SK Gold awaits this week and with the rotation system operational, we’ll have to be at our best to get our third win on the trot.
See you all Wednesday at Como !!
