The Brownies, powered by a big nine goal performance from James "Milky" Forrest, poleaxed St Bede's/Mentone Tigers at Toorak Park today.
Pat Allan's team went down to Beaumaris at Stradbroke Park despite a three goal BOG performance from Jon Merlo.
It was a tight contest all afternoon and the result was in doubt until the final siren halted proceedings. Happily, the Red and Blacks got the chocolates, held on to fourth spot and a two game break on fifth-placed Old Scotch.
The Green Hose led all afternoon in a low scoring affair to take the points against the Eye Charts - BNOBSPC. Veteran David Landrigan booted five of the Xavs' eight goals.
