Pat Allan's team went down to Beaumaris at Stradbroke Park despite a three goal BOG performance from Jon Merlo. The loss was a costly one, with the Red 'n' Blacks falling from top spot to third.

The Red and Blacks trailed early, but led at three quarter time. However, in the final stretch, the Sharks came home stronger, scoring 4.5 to 1.3 to take the points.
