ROUND 3 RECOVERY
Eight from ten in strong return
The WOX turned it on to register their fifth win of the season in a sparkling performance at Xavier yesterday.
The Old Xavs won every quarter against last-start winners Brunswick Renegades in an effort that delighted the fans and the girls themselves.
Coach Young reports:
It was a super effort today - everyone played so well, and most importantly, they played a great team game.
The team really tried hard to deliver the game style we have been practising.
Brunswick is a very experienced, physically hard team, and our players took it right up to them , showing them how a hard-at-the-ball, tough-tackling team plays. They might have expected to roll over our team today, but from the warm-up, the Red 'n' Blacks were on and ready to deliver, so much so that Brunswick never looked like posing a threat to us.
Our team took another good step forward and now has the chance to show three out of the four teams that will play finals how much we have improved.
We were happy that the VAFA 125 medal went to one of the Old Xavs - congratulations Gabby!
It was very hard to compile the votes today, as so many really stepped up and put in a great performance. It was a well deserved four points after a couple of very good games where we didn't quite get across the line.
