TOORAK PARK TREBLE
Another big day at home
Star midfielder Tristan "Tickets" Parker will lead the Old Xaverians Reserves in 2017.
The dashing midfielder, who has played some excellent senior games (and is expected to play more), will be the captain of coach Murray Browne's lineup this season.
Parker will be supported by vice-captain Daniel Harangozo, with the leadership group also comprising Lachie Keith, Ben Plant, Robbie Ralph, Ed Lachal, and Jon Pintal.
With the retirement of a number of well-seasoned players, it is likely the Reserves, who have played in the last two grand finals for a 1-1 record, will take on a youthful look in 2017.
Coach Browne is bullish: "We have a many new faces in the group, including a solid crop of last year’s U19s, who can hopefully become senior players in the future.
As usual, we will focus on developing players and keeping the pressure on senior players. With a leadership group as strong as we have, there is no reason why some of our newer players won't step up to answer the challenges posed by the season.
Once again, it's not only about ability, it's about learning and applying themselves to the task."
