Long time supporters of the club will be saddened to hear of the recent passing of Peter Fraser at the age of seventy-one.

Frase joined the club in 1963 and was a member of both the 1964 and 1966 A Reserves Premiership sides.  He later captain-coached the Reserves and served as Secretary of the club in 1970.

For some time he held the club record for games played (248), equalling the then record in 1977.

As a player, Frase was slow but clever.  Broad of beam and with strong hands, he outmanoeuvred his opponents and was an expert at staging for a free kick.

He infuriated his opponents and on one occasion copped a broken jaw from a roundhouse punch.  Being a solicitor, Frase initiated Court proceedings and possibly got a few bob and the last laugh.

For the past five or so years, Peter had suffered from dementia.

Our most sincere sympathies to his wife Philippa, sons Andrew and Luke, father-in-law of Alicia and Celia, grandfather of Angus and Eleanor.
