Midfielder medals in close vote
Despite a long list of unavailabilities, the U19 teams all put on strong showings, winning two of their three contests.
Harrison Bell booted six, and Tom Dunne recorded his second-straight BOG as the Red 'n' Blacks romped at Stradbroke. Xavs had the better of the contest from the beginning, with the plucky Beaumaris team struggling to keep up with Rush's Rookies.
It was another strong showing from the Xavs, who moved back into top spot on percentage over Caulfield Grammarians. Next Sunday, the Claret and Stout will clash with Old Scotch in the 2:00pm leg of an U19 Premier Festival at Elsternwick.

St Bede's/Mentone Tigers threw everything at the Xavs at Stradbroke, but in the end, Batty's Boys proved the stronger, taking the points after a strong final term. Dec Fitzgerald kicked five and was accorded BOG honours, while plenty of his teammates showed their mettle in the close contest. Despite being recently promoted, the Red 'n' Blacks are clear in second position with only Mazenod above them. Round 11 entails a trip to meet the three-and-five Fitzroy.

Still, the Claret and Stout is in fourth spot, and in the swing home, meets only teams below it on the ladder.
