Xavier opens for pre-season

January 28, 2021

Pre-season training for most teams will return to the club's ancestral home at Xavier next Tuesday, OXFC Operations Manager Marcus Allan announced today.

"We are again indebted to Xavier, to College Principal Bill Doherty and to his staff, for allowing us the use of the splendid facilities. It has been a difficult period for both the College and our club, but we view this as a first step in resuming activities that will provide Red 'n' Black football for players and supporters.

The updated schedule is as follows:

Xavier College, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from Tuesday 2 February, 6:15 for 6:30pm commencement- Seniors, WOX, Reserves, U23s and U19s.

The Menages and Crocs will train at TH King on Wednesdays from 6:30.

Allan said that he expects a large influx of players, particularly those keen to participate in the WOX and U19 programs. "Many have asked me when we set sail for the season and now we know the answer," he said.

NB: Parking on the XC grounds will not be permitted training nights and all coaches, players and support staff should respect that request.

Instead, Xavier has kindly organised parking next door at VicRoads for us from 6pm. We are to use the Barkers Road entrance to VicRoads (between Denmark Street and the XC main gate). This car park will close at 8:45pm sharp and any car left in there at that time will be there until the following morning.

The school is also setting up the QR check in station for each oval on campus at the access gate (between VicRoads and the College), so you must check in to the appropriate oval when you enter.

There will be access to the sports centre for bathroom use only between 6pm and 8:30pm.
