BIG DAY OUT
Nine solid wins
Three Old Xavs' women have been recognised for their stellar form by being selected in the first ever VAFA Women's Representative squad.
Skipper Emily Archer, Gabby Golds and Riley Christgoergl have the opportunity to become the first Red 'n' Black women to wear the famous Big V.
The trio have played magnificently for the Claret and Stout, with Archer prominent in the midfield, Golds always a scoring threat and Christgoergl a power in defence.
"Old Xaverians' commitment and contribution to the Big V has been and remains strong. We recognise that representative football provides unique opportunities and to play with and against other talented players," OXFC President Bill Denton said.
"We are delighted that our Old Xavs women are among those selected for the inaugural squad. They have worn our guernsey with pride each week and will no doubt prove their value at the representative level."
The Big V will take on AFL Goldfields in July. Former Uni Blues coach and current 96.5 Inner FM radio panelist and commentator John Kanis will coach the team, assisted by our own premiership co-coach Ted Woodruff and former Big V senior coach and current Uni Blacks gaffer Cam Roberts.
