We are saddened to learn of the recent passing of Kevin Breheny, who died peacefully on 14 March, aged 73.

Big Kev Breheny was a stalwart of the club for a decade from the mid 1960s.

He played most of his 100+ games as a ruckman in the Reserves, and served our club as Secretary in 1973 and 1974 under the Presidencies of Jack Bowen and Brian Lugar.

Soon after hanging up his boots, Kev moved to Sydney and eventually to Great Mackerel Beach, near Pittwater and Palm Beach  He worked n stockbroking, investment, banking and commercial real estate and was a director and founder of Sydney based Property Australia Group.

Kev stayed in regular contact with school friends and Old Xavs teammates and played in many an OXA Golf day. He was heavily involved with activities of those Old Xavs domiciled in Sydney..

Our deepest condolences to Kev’s wife Kerrie-Ann, their three daughters, Kristen, Anna and Sophie, and to the extended Breheny family.

A memorial service will be held for Kevin at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia in Rushcutters Bay on Saturday 23 March 23 at 5:00pm.
