HEALY'S HEROES GROUND GREENS

The good news keeps coming for the U23s. Reigning premiers, and now 4-0 on the new season.

Coach Healy comments:

St Kevin's Green is the younger of the two SK 3rds teams and came into this game undefeated with good results.

Timmy ‘The Weapon’ Mangan carried the bulk of the coaching duties for the second week in succession and the players performed admirably with a strong attack on the ball and some really pleasing teamwork.

We were able to take an early initiative with an edge at the clearances through Berry, Bueno and Agius. Seb Knox started on a wing and his attack on the ball was ferocious but unfortunately he took a heavy hit and did not get beyond the opening quarter !

Beaton was in really good touch and with Le Febvre and Cain, gave our marking targets up forward plenty of opportunities.

Highlight however, was restricting SK Green to just one goal for the first half with Buffon, Ongarato, Stanley and Prowse leading a solid defensive unit.

Our four goal half-time lead finished at six goals after some determined efforts from SK to peg us back.  Overall, a really pleasing win minus Captain Fletch !!

With so many rotations weekly, it’s great to see players really giving it their utmost when they do get a shot – numbers at training are excellent and we’ve now racked up an impressive four wins on the bounce to set ourselves up for a competitive year.

Uni Blues are next – they pushed the Menages so we should be in for a great battle !!

See you all at training at Como on Wednesday – don’t park in the confines of Como Park !!!
