GETTING A GUERNSEY

It was a big night on Thursday and smiles all round as our women's squad members pulled on the mighty red and black for the first time.

President Bill Denton was there to hand out the prized match jerseys to Rohenna Young's squad and Women's Football Czarina Davina Calhaem congratulated the women on their efforts so far.

"The girls have worked very hard since November and it has been amazing to see their attitude to learning about the game. There's a great spirit among the group and we are keen to see how they go," said Calhaem.

Skipper Emily Archer spoke for all the group when she said that it will be a great honour to wear the famous guernsey this season.

"We've looked on, supported our boys, and now we get a crack at it. And we will give it a good crack, too," said the 2017 captain.
