R.I.P. Robin McCooey
Rob McCooey along with his mates Adrian Scharader, Peter and Mick Peppard and Paul Lachal were responsible for the reforming of the club after the war. Rob had a passion for the football club and was responsible for recuriting school leavers to the club which resulted in promotion from C grade to premiers in B and on to A grade.
In Rob's time the club played at Xavier and was responsible for the tradition of the OXFC patronage at Charlie Turnley's Hotel at the Kew Junction now known as the Skinny Dog.
The President, Members and players of the Old Xaverians Football Club are sorry to hear of the death of Robin, former player and President (1954-1958). He will be remembered for his loyal support and dedication over many years.
Our deepest sympathy to all of his family and may he rest in peace.
