As school holidays continued to take its toll on our players, we headed down to Beauy with a depleted list and only 4 on the bench.  But again it would be a chance to a few new blokes and we were confident nonetheless.  Unfortunately, we had our worst pre match routine for the year, but it would be unfair on the boys to place the blame with them.  David John Prowse was to blame, as he arrived half an hour late with a bag full of soaking jumpers and a whiteboard with magnets missing.  But we soldiered on and despite the boys feeling heavy and cold, we started well and dominated early.

If not for wayward kicking, we would have been further in front but our endeavour was good and we just weren’t taking our chances.  Although are opposition wasn’t much chop, we were letting ourselves down with some of the simple things and were probably lucky to get away with it.  We had a few blokes down but were held up by the likes of Bosnar & Ralphy through the middle, Adsy at full forward and Darrer across half back who was playing a blinder.  So at half time, we had played a bit flat but still ok, yet only had a 20 odd point lead and were nowhere near where we should have been.

So with another half of footy to redeem ourselves, we had to contend with 1 less on the bench as J Meehan had gone down in a marking contest.  Lucky we still had plenty of run off the bench and several blokes that could push through the middle, including M Burne who had bettered his effort from the week before and was having his best game for the club yet again.  As the game went on we started to move away from our opposition but our accuracy was poor and we were building a scary points to goals differential.  At 3 quarter time the game was over, but the chance to shed a few punishment 400s from Thursdays training wasn’t.  Unfortunately the boys didn’t seem to realize this and to finish with 13-22 means 3.6km awaits us.  In what was a bit of a nothing game, we were happy to take the 4 points and also welcomed the return of Pane & Rogan who will be better for the run as well as Stokes who broke the lines in his first hit out for the club.
