In a hard fought encounter, the seniors came up short by just over a goal in by far the most intense and physical match for the year to date.

A wasteful first quarter (3 goals 6 behinds) from the Xavs forwards proved fatal in a to and fro game with a strong wind to the scoreboard end.

Whilst Lynch, Prowse, Wynne and Ryan all played well, too much was left to too few and the class of De La in the final term saw them run over the Xavs in a high quality match.

The Biddlecombe v Harrison duel was an intriguing one with both displaying their class at times. Biddlecombe played a sensational game, repelling attacks all day as well as creating run and drive from half back.

In the end a disappointing result, but a much deserved win to De La. We look forward to the return bout and now turn our attention to Brindisi Street this weekend in a must win battle against St Bedes.
