TAKE THE POINTS
With Goss debuting for the seniors from the under 19's, the boys started slowly against Marcellin taking a while to impact the scoreboard until Larkins moved forward and added some real bite to our attack.
Poor kicking for goal was an issue from the outset and continued throughout the day which kept the scoreline perhaps more flattering than it should or could have been.
Shaw, Darvell and Gidley were all in very good form in the midfield and Sapuppo too enjoyed his return to the top flight. Wynne was on fire and Noonan continued his stellar form in defence.
At the half time break the 4 goal lead was disappointing given our dominance around the ground. In the third quarter Rogerson continued to attack well off half back and Lachie Smith enjoyed some more game time at half forward. Rush put his stamp on the game at Centre Half Forward in the third and the margin started to increase though the goal kicking efficiency continued to be disappointing.
In the end Xavs ran out 70 point winners with 31 scoring shots to 7. The scoring shot return will need to improve next week against ladder leaders De La Salle at Toorak Park in what should be a great top of the table clash.
All supporters are encouraged to attend Toorak Park to support the Club in what is the biggest clash of the season for the Club. See you there!
