  • VAFA Junior Coach of the Year: Tom Maule

At last night’s Annual Dinner following the VAFA Annual General Meeting, Tom Maule was presented with the VAFA Junior Coach of the Year Award. A significant achievement and honour. This crowns a seminal year for our U19 teams with dual premierships. Tom has been coaching our U19 teams since 2006, initially the U192s  and since 2009, the U19 Premiers.

The Club congratulates Tom and is proud to have him as part of our coaching team. The Club also thanks all those who have been part of the U19 program this year and for the contribution they have made – our program is in great shape and is so important  to us.

  • Tribute - Maxine Corcoran

All at the club have been saddened by the news that Maxine Corcoran, wife of Danny and mother of Nick died this week. Danny played in the 1981 A Grade Premiership, the clubs first, and later coached the seniors, while Nick has played for many years.

Maxine (Johnson) was an accomplished athlete - National 400m champion in 1979, and 1980. She won a silver medal at the Commonwealth games in the 400m Relay, and respresented her country on many occasions.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Danny and the family.

Funeral will be held at Sacred Heart in Sandringham, next Tuesday December 6th.
