Andrew Oswald 200 Games
One of the Old Xaverians Football Clubs’ favourite sons, Andrew Oswald, will play his 200th game in the Red & Black this weekend against Old Scotch.
Affectionately known around the Club as Ozzie, Meat, The Dragon or Bumblebee, Andrew first came to the Club in 1998 straight from the School, and quickly made an impact by winning the U/19 competition goal kicking award with 53 goals, in a Premiership year. The U/19s went back-to-back in 98, 99 with the latter year being under the guidance of Ozzie as Captain. Those same U/19 sides still hold the VAFA U/19 record for most consecutive games won…

Xavs Beat the Boys from Brindisi
After a slow start down at the difficult to play Brindisi Oval the Xavs turned up the heat and showed some of their best form for the season. It’s not an easy task taking away the 4 points when you play St Bedes / Mentone away. In their 21 games in A Grade they have lost just the 3 times. A 38 point lead at 3 quarter time proved too much for the home side and although they threw everything at our boys we defended well and came away with a well deserved win.
R.I.P. Robin McCooey
Rob McCooey along with his mates Adrian Scharader, Peter and Mick Peppard and Paul Lachal were responsible for the reforming of the club after the war. Rob had a passion for the football club and was responsible for recuriting school leavers to the club which resulted in promotion from C grade to premiers in B and on to A grade.
In Rob's time the club played at Xavier and was responsible for the tradition of the OXFC patronage at Charlie Turnley's Hotel at the Kew Junction now known as the Skinny Dog.
